About Us
Origin Story
AACS was formed by a group of individuals from Cullman County who saw a need in our community and came together to try to provide for it. We believe that communication is a fundamental human right, and all individuals should have access to multiple modalities of communication. Our mission is to quickly provide financial assistance and access to high-tech, robust communication devices for non-speaking or minimally speaking children and other individuals with significant communication disorders in and around North Alabama, in order to bridge the gap between insurance funding and out-of-pocket costs. We hope to work closely with families, educators, and therapists in our area to ensure that everyone has a voice.

Our background
AACS was formed as a non-profit/501(c)3 organization in March 2024.
OUR SERVICES
We will work closely with you, your child/family member, and his or her primary Speech Language Pathologist to provide a trial device, assist with collecting and submitting paperwork for insurance coverage for a personal communication device, provide financial assistance to bridge the gap between insurance reimbursement and out-of-pocket costs, or provide an iOS device with a recommended speech generating app.
